One person is dead following a shooting late Sunday night in a west Toledo neighborhood. According to the Toledo Police Department, the shooting occurred around 10:14 p.m. on West Lincolnshire Boulevard, located between Central Avenue and Christie Boulevard.
Detectives at the scene reported that a large party was taking place at a rental home, believed to be an Airbnb, with approximately 50 or more individuals in attendance. During the gathering, an unidentified suspect opened fire in the area. Police say at least one person was struck by gunfire—a victim who was not attending the party at the time of the incident.
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Cole Lepkowski. Emergency personnel treated Lepkowski at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
No suspect information has been released at this time, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Detectives have not confirmed whether the gunfire was targeted or random. A section of West Lincolnshire Boulevard, located just two streets west of Costco, was cordoned off with police tape late into the night as investigators processed the scene for evidence.
