Canfield Fatal Shooting: Kootenai County Firefighters, Deputy Injured in Ambush Responding to Fire Call in Canfield Montains

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) and Idaho State Police are responding to a bizarre situation on Sunday in Canfield, North Idaho.

According to Scanner, multiple firefighters have been shot while responding to a call for an active fire on the Canfield Mountain, north of Coeur d’Alene. According to law enforcement, multiple shots have been fired by a suspect who intentionally set the blaze just to lure the responding agencies department to an ambush.

According to the Kootenai County law enforcement, responders are currently being evacuated from the location as more investigators and a combat team arrive. At this time, at least two firefighters and one Sheriff’s Deputy has been confirmed shot and injured by the male suspect.
