Wednesday, June 18, 2025 (approx. 2:45 p.m.)— Clearwater Police confirm that an individual died by suicide in the multi-level public parking facility attached to the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa, 301 S. Gulfview Boulevard. Officers and Clearwater Fire & Rescue were dispatched after multiple 9‑1‑1 callers reported a gunshot inside the garage. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives have ruled the death a suicide and say no foul play is suspected. Investigators are working with the Medical Examiner’s Office to notify next‑of‑kin; the person’s identity, age, and hometown have not yet been released.

Law-enforcement statement
A spokesperson told reporters, “All evidence points to an isolated act of self-harm. There is no continuing threat to hotel guests, staff, or the public. We ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact our detectives.”
